Books That Develop the Person, the Leader, and Organizations

My writing explores how character shapes the individual, how individuals grow into leaders, and how leaders build organizations capable of sustaining success.

Each book is a different expression of the same leadership philosophy.

Have Fun. Be a Leader. Do Your Best.

Have Fun. Be a Leader. Do Your Best. began as guidance for my son, but its lessons extend far beyond one relationship.

The book explores character, purpose, relationships, discipline, humility, trust, and the choices that help a person live well and influence others through the example they set.

Work in Development

Worth Following

Worth Following is the working title of a future book exploring two connected questions:

What makes a leader worth following?
What makes an organization worth following?

Worth Following builds upon the first book by moving from the development of the individual to the responsibilities of leaders and the capability of organizations.

The book is being developed from the Worth Following doctrine, the Leadership Model, the advisory practice, and continuing reflection on leadership across military service, business, family, and organizational life.
The Connection

The books are part of one leadership philosophy

Although the books can be read independently, they represent two expressions of the same body of work.

Character shapes the person.
The person influences others.
Leadership creates the conditions.
People build organizations worth following.
The philosophy remains consistent. Only the scale changes.
Explore the Platform

The books are part of a larger conversation about leadership

The Worth Following philosophy and Leadership Model connect the development of character, leadership, organizational capability, and sustainable success.
